Diddlers embark on recruitment drive...
It had been a busy week or two. The founder members had been out and about, plastering phone numbers on walls of toilets, insides of phone boxes - all to advertise our Diddler recruitment drive. It was a hard week, but Amanda and Karine looked pleased with the first two candidates.
Unfortunately, we also attracted some rather strange people who seemed to want to run.

Committee Meeting - sticky topics cause a buzzzz!
But, the committee did view this as a valid suggestion and Helen has put forward this alternative - how about recording (photographically) the cause of the ailments!
So, we have here a photograph of an insect suspected of having caused the three bites on Helen's limbs. Well, OK - you will have to accept that it wasn't this actual thingy that did it, but the damage was caused at around the same time of day...
And what of the indigestion?
We have here the exact location of cream tea #1

And #2

Fore!
Unfortunately it all went wrong at the last and she was caught in the bunker with a bogey.
Alas no photos caught the moment, but I suspect there will be plenty of repeat performances...
How's that for a handicap?!
That's 10 points for introducing a new sport at a Doddler event!

Club Championship, round two
Picnics, press photographers and the option of bathrobes meant some of us could bag a tidy sum in points.
Unfortunately the weather was against us. Fiona, Ursula (new member), Viv, Sheila, Tara (Doddler division) and Helen braved torrential rain to take part. Bad weather put paid to the picnics.
However, Sheila and Helen were determined to bag 10 points for having their photo taken with a very unsuspecting and patient Ian!
So, the points for this round were just 10 each to Sheila and Helen - with a massive 15 points bonus to them both for appearing in the Western Gazette.
There's no such thing as bad publicity. Allegedly.

Not just for fun...
As amusing as we hope this blog will be, there is a serious side to it.
Amongst our membership is a rich seam of experience and knowledge and we feel it our duty to share this for the benefit of all.
We are fortunate to have in our group, a representative from the medical profession. Amanda has accepted the role of Family Planning Officer. However, she is keen to make the education fun and likes to create an informal atmosphere.
At last night's inaugural meeting, she demonstrated the latest innovation in Family Planning. Apparently, one size fits all.
