Sheila shows us how it's done!!!!

A Grimm photo!
Well, you'd think Dianne's photo would be good enough to steal some points, but nope. Sheila had other ideas. She was going to get her photo taken with a real Beatle!

After the audience were invited to have a dance, Sheila was down with the crowd and after a few minutes had lulled the Fab Four into thinking all was well...

With a few determined strides, she was up there snogging Paul!

After a breather, she was back in her seat. Yeah, yeah, yeah!

So the points?

Five to Joan, Karine, Dianne, Sheila and Helen. 10 points to Dianne for her photo with the Fab Four, and a special 20 to Sheila for nerve!

Diddlers embark on recruitment drive...

It had been a busy week or two. The founder members had been out and about, plastering phone numbers on walls of toilets, insides of phone boxes - all to advertise our Diddler recruitment drive. It was a hard week, but Amanda and Karine looked pleased with the first two candidates.

Unfortunately, we also attracted some rather strange people who seemed to want to run.

Never mind, we pushed on with Helen and Amanda demonstrating the style needed for any potential Diddler.

Chris was adamant what she wanted, "Muscles, I want to see men with muscles!"

Sheila thought she'd spotted one and tried to show Dianne on the map...

Phew! It was a long climb, but we soon found our man!

The sheep looked a little bemused, but that's nothing we aren't already used to.

Yes, Dianne and Sheila were reporting back that the interview was going well. Just the physical to get through now.

Yep! Sheila thought he suited the Diddlers very well!

Karine claws her way up the leader board

Karine took to the high seas today - all to avoid a Tuesday run. As there was food involved - a very sizable crab salad - it was inevitable that she would snatch 5 points for her efforts!

Tuesday - time for a run?

It seems not! Amanda spots some runners in the distance, but manages to keep walking in the opposite direction!

The leisurely evening stroll took in some weird and wonderful sights - none of them found here!

Committee Meeting - sticky topics cause a buzzzz!

At tonight's committee meeting, Sarah suggested that points should be awarded for ailments suffered. However, as these would have to be substantiated by photographic evidence, it was decided that perhaps we would fall foul of the censors.

But, the committee did view this as a valid suggestion and Helen has put forward this alternative - how about recording (photographically) the cause of the ailments!

So, we have here a photograph of an insect suspected of having caused the three bites on Helen's limbs. Well, OK - you will have to accept that it wasn't this actual thingy that did it, but the damage was caused at around the same time of day...

And what of the indigestion?

We have here the exact location of cream tea #1
.

And #2

And finally...

Fore!

Yes, Sarah has moved on to golf and last night played a cracking round at Karine's.

Unfortunately it all went wrong at the last and she was caught in the bunker with a bogey.

Alas no photos caught the moment, but I suspect there will be plenty of repeat performances...

How's that for a handicap?!

That's 10 points for introducing a new sport at a Doddler event!

Sponsored by...

Yes, the Club has now been recognised for the elite running club it is. Fiona arranged for the Sherborne 'race' to be sponsored by Mule Bars. Not sure why!

Anyway, we obviously make a good team of mules and the bars were pretty tasty too!

.

Training session - don't try this at home!

Dianne has stepped forward and offered to become Training Officer. Her first lesson has been videoed for the Club.

Wish you were here?

Amanda is Certified!

Yes, Amanda has finally produced evidence of her incapacity to run at yesterday's Championship event.

However, as William was overheard asking "Why do I have to wear this on my right arm, when my left one hurts?", we're not entirely convinced.

We await the return of our X-Ray dept later in the week for verification!

Club Championship, round two

Today we were out in force at the Race for Life at Sherborne Castle. This had the potential of being a high-scoring event.

Picnics, press photographers and the option of bathrobes meant some of us could bag a tidy sum in points.

Unfortunately the weather was against us. Fiona, Ursula (new member), Viv, Sheila, Tara (Doddler division) and Helen braved torrential rain to take part. Bad weather put paid to the picnics.

However, Sheila and Helen were determined to bag 10 points for having their photo taken with a very unsuspecting and patient Ian!

So, the points for this round were just 10 each to Sheila and Helen - with a massive 15 points bonus to them both for appearing in the Western Gazette.

There's no such thing as bad publicity. Allegedly.

Not just for fun...

.

As amusing as we hope this blog will be, there is a serious side to it.

Amongst our membership is a rich seam of experience and knowledge and we feel it our duty to share this for the benefit of all.

We are fortunate to have in our group, a representative from the medical profession. Amanda has accepted the role of Family Planning Officer. However, she is keen to make the education fun and likes to create an informal atmosphere.

At last night's inaugural meeting, she demonstrated the latest innovation in Family Planning. Apparently, one size fits all.
