The Dorset Diddlers!

Starry, starry night!

Well, it all seemed very well organised. Helen had printed off copies of a 5.5 mile walk and the team were (almost) raring to go!

Unfortunately, she hadn't factored in that Dianne and Sheila were blind without their glasses. No matter. Doreen had good leadership skills, so the four of them set off!

We knew the area, but covered new ground and bumped into some new friends!

It was pretty obvious as we hit 5 miles that the route was wrongly measured. We still had Bagber Common to cross and then on to Stalbridge Lane.

We managed to find our way (just) and hit the lane as it became really too dark to be out. Dianne phoned Ron who didn't seem to mind that she was out in the wilds of Dorset.

Chris seemed pretty calm about it too - she was safely tucked up in Poole. And Karine? Karine was keen to pick us up - especially when we mentioned the Chip shop!

Back to the car park by 9.15! Yes, 9.15! With just under 8 miles completed, a letter is surely winging its way to the magazine?

And what of Amanda? She had the best idea - arriving in her red racer. Good move Amanda. Good move.

A challenge for next summer...

How about a Diddler group taking part in next year's Stur Carnival as Majorettes?

Don't panic - our cunning plan is to be the Miming Majorettes - no music, no batons, just a group of immature women strutting their stuff along the streets of Stur!

We already have a choreographer - Sarah!

Amanda jumps the queue and gets on her knees...

The Olympics!

As some of you may know, Frances has a new addition to her family. Mr Pepys comes from a very sporting background - some of his cousins are out in China now!

Mamma Mia!

OK - so which Diddler said she'd be prepared to shave her legs for this man?

And for another 10 points, who requested a horizontal view?

Cheers!

Sheila orders the new kit!

Something tells me that the committee should have decided this one!

Stur Half - helping...our way!

Yes, this year's Stur Half provided even more photo opportunities! Who's that hiding behind David and Tim? Looks like Sheila, Amanda and Philli!

Amanda and a very sweaty guy!

And looks like Dianne has her hands full too!

Good old Frances - always keeping the troops entertained!

Return to Sherborne....

A while back, we had our photo taken at Sherborne and it has now appeared in the local Unity.com magazine - which means points have been awarded to all those there!

Well who would have believed it...

Diddlers get tough on new members!

Yes, it's not easy being Diddlers. We need to be tough and the only sure way is sticking to our Diddler diet.

Sheila demonstrates how she tackles her carb and protein balances..

Yes, a balanced diet is our aim!

Amanda tries for bonus points here - she couldn't have her photo taken with a Beatle, so the next best thing? Ladybirds!

Ian gets angry as he demands bonus points for being photographed with some oranges. Doesn't he know what the rules are?

Mike storms off as he too is refused membership to the Diddlers.

Craig reads the rules and finds it's all true. They can't join us!

Fortunately, we had Carol (Litton division) sweeping up these blokes and moving them on!

Photos are now available...

And after more bonus points is Sheila (read about me in the Western Gazette) Pearce! Sheila had her very own article - and dragged Helen into it too!
