The season of Christmas is here again


Bustling amongst the crowded shops
For the childrens latest favourites
Or looking up those special treats
From our old and trusted recipe books


We must pause awhile to gather thoughts
Of the Christmas message of long ago
Of Mary and Joseph and their son
Who was to be the special one.


The gift given to us all to treasure
In our hearts and in our lives
After all the fuss and the pleasure
This is what Christmas is all about
